With this training you will receive not only information on data modeling, but also a well-founded introduction to the world of SQL statements in order to query data from a wide variety of data sources or to be able to permanently save tables and queries.

Requirements

Knowledge of a programming language (e.g. VBA) or a database system is an advantage

Content

• SQL basics and database design (1st-3rd normal form)

• SQL structure (DDL, DQL, DML, DCL)

• Data selection with SELECT statement

• Extensions DISTINCT and ORDER BY

• Create WHERE criteria with LIKE, IN, BETWEEN, NOT, IsNULL

• Aggregate functions GROUP BY and HAVING

• Calculated functions in SELECT statements

• Use of logical functions AND and OR

• Join tables with WHERE and JOIN statements

• Form unions with UNION

• Creating subqueries with SELECT

• Data manipulation with INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE

• Creating tables and views (CREATE TABLE, CREATE VIEW)

• Use of SELECT statements in ADO

• Creating Stored Procedures on SQL Server
